Have you ever had a place or project to which you longed to return? That is how I’ve felt about this Sanctuary blog. I’ve longed to again write in this place, yet, I’ve felt driven to place my writing efforts in the completion of the novel, Nothing to Fear. I had suggested that it would be published in late 2023, but circumstances kept the completion constantly at bay. I did not want Sanctuary or Nothing to Fear to suffer, should my creative energies be stretched too thin. Then, I recalled the wise words in Ecclesiastes 3: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. Over and over, I repeated those words when things did not always go quite as I planned. If a time was already in place, I had no need to feel stressed or pressured by my own ideas of when something needed to be written or done. I permitted myself to work happily on the novel, letting the creative thoughts and images spill onto my pages with confidence, knowing that I would return to other writings when the time was right. Now, the novel manuscript is completed and edited. The book cover is in the hands of creative professionals, and the final results will be published in the spring. I’m excited and thankful to have completed this amazing project and am eager to share it with you. Now, in this right time, I can return to creating regular blog posts on Sanctuary. A time is in place for all things.
Blessings, Sandra
